Pure Copper.... When new and unfinished, it will be bright and shiny like a new penny. Over time, copper develops a patina and darken into a warm brown color.
This is a natural process. It is not a defect. Regular cleaning/polishing will help the item keep its bright color.
Caring for your jewelry…
Depending on the type of jewelry purchased, be sure to remove any jewelry before you bathe, wash your hands, do any cleaning or go swimming. The moisture will cause the copper or other types of materials used to tarnish over time. Also remove jewelry pieces before you apply any hand cream, lotions, perfume, or go to bed. The chemicals in these products can damage the jewelry and sleeping in them can cause them to snag or bend out of shape.
How to naturally remove tarnishing...
Rub a mixture of 1 tablespoon of table salt and 1 cup of white vinegar or lemon juice onto the jewelry with a soft cloth and rinse.
